ABOUT ME
Renee Nasajon , Psy.D. , Licensed Psychologist
I was born in Montevideo, Uruguay and immigrated to Miami in 1981.
I received my Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Carlos Albizu University (formerly known as Miami Institute of Psychology).
I completed my internship and post-doctoral training at the University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital, where I worked in the Outpatient Clinic, the Inpatient Unit at the Psychiatry Department, and the Behavioral Medicine Department - Dialysis Center and the Cardiac Unit, where I had the opportunity to assist patients coping with their medical conditions and concomitant psychological difficulties.
During my internship I co-lead therapy groups for participants in the SMART/EST program, a research study that helped women of different sociocultural backgrounds living with HIV coping with the diagnosis. I continued my work at the University of Miami during my postdoctoral training as research coordinator for JARF, a research study that helped adolescents with a history of substance abuse and criminal behavior.
A few years later, my love for clinical psychology propelled me to focus more and more on the clinical aspect of my profession. That is when in 2003 I opened my private practice which I have kept active up to the present.
With the advent of Covid I was forced to turn to telehealth and have been exclusively seeing patients virtually ever since. If commuting can be an inconvenience to your busy schedule, or you travel often, or you are used to virtual interactions, you will find telehealth as a perfect replacement to in-person therapy.
I am licensed in the state of Florida and the state of New York. I am also certified by PSYPACT and am free to practice telehealth with individuals that live in states that participate in the PSYPACT program.
